FilesPocket ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile document toolkit that helps you manage,
scan, and organize your files. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we
collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Account Data
- Email address, name, and hashed password when you create an account with email.
- Google account ID and email when you sign in with Google. We receive your public profile
info from Google we never see your Google password.
Device Data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used solely to send you push notifications
(e.g., document expiry reminders). The token is deleted from our servers when you log out.
- Device platform (iOS / Android) to format notifications correctly.
Files & Documents
- Files you scan, compress, or manage within the app are processed on your device.
We do not upload or store your files on our servers unless a feature explicitly requires it
(e.g., cloud vault sync coming soon), and only with your consent.
Usage & Analytics
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
- Google AdMob (ads) may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data as described in
Google's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Authentication to create and secure your account.
- Push Notifications to send document expiry reminders and important alerts.
- Ads Google AdMob displays ads in the free tier. You can remove ads via an in-app purchase.
- Improving the App aggregated, non-personal usage patterns may be used to improve features.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google for Sign-In authentication and AdMob ad serving.
- Firebase (Google) for push notification delivery.
- MongoDB Atlas our database provider, hosted in the US (us-east-1) with encryption at rest.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt we never store plaintext passwords.
- Authentication tokens (JWT) are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage (MMKV).
- All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Our backend runs on AWS with industry-standard security practices.
5. Your Rights
- Access & Export you can view your account data in the Profile section.
- Delete Account you can delete your account from the app, which permanently removes
all your data from our servers.
- Revoke Permissions you can disable notifications or revoke camera/storage permissions
at any time from your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
FilesPocket is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your
payment information all billing is handled by the respective platform.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the
most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
